We know that you have traveled a long way to visit us here on Kachemak Bay.
We want to ensure you that your Alaskan experience includes the sights and sounds that you expected when visiting our home. Our two impressive vessels: The  M/V Rainbow Connection  and M/V Discovery  are able to provide trips anywhere on the Bay, ranging from amazing wildlife tours to full buffet style dinner cruises.  Our entertaining and informative  crew has over 50+ years of knowledgeable experience on the bay, giving our guests many memorable moments.

I have attached a description of some of our more popular tours. This will give you an idea of what we can do for you. We hope that one of these AMAZING  and UNIQUE adventures will fit you and your guests desires.  In addition, we can customize any tour to BEST accommodate you and your party.

Our Vessels:
The M/V Rainbow Connection is  65’ long with a 18.5’ beam and a 80 passenger capacity. She has indoor/outdoor seating and a fully automated roll control system for a  more stable ride.  She is designed for passenger comfort that has a full service snack and beverage/liquor bar. 

The M/V Discovery  is 75’ long with a beam of 20’  and a 80 passenger capacity. She has indoor, outdoor seating, two full walk around decks and even an upper deck for your full comfort and viewing. There is a snack bar on board with chips, candies and drinks.

We recommend early reservations and require a 25% deposit from a visa or mastercard number for group reservations. If we can help you further or have any questions, please just let me know.

This cruise is a 3 hour tour beginning with the enterance to Eldred Passage, where many sea otters, eagles and seaducks can be seen. It continues on to Cohen and Yukon Island, which are known for their archeological history in Kachemak Bay and Natural Beauty.  Sadie Cove, a natural fjord with steep high cliffs and deep water is where we venture into next.  You’ll have opportunities of seeing black bears and mountain goats.  This tour is perfect for conventions/conferences and fundraisers. It’s ideal for those visiting from outside and Alaskans who want to see the very best of our Natural Wonders.

This tour is a Birder’s Paradise! A 4 hour tour beginning on the north side of Kachemak Bay searching for many pelagic birds and a variety of seaducks. We cruise down to the entrance of Bear Cove   and then return on the south side of the bay, passing by Glacier Spit, Halibut Cove, Peterson and China Poot Bay, ending with Gull Island seabird rookery. Birds featured on this tour can include: Pelagic, Double Crested and Red-faced Cormorants, Yellow billed, Common, Pacific, and Artic Loons, Red-necked and Horned Grebes, Tufted and Horned Puffins, Common Murres, Glaucous winged and black legged Kittiwake Gulls, Pigeon Guillemots, Marbled and Kittlitz Murrelets, Artic and Aleutian Terns and a variety of seaducks including Scaups, Common Eiders, Harlequins, Scoters, Goldeneyes, Buffleheads, and Mergansers.  Though we will not guarantee sightings of all our feathered friends, please email if you want to see a particular species and we can tell you of any recent sightings. Harbor seals, harbor porpoise and sea otters are common on this tour and, with any luck a whale or two may make an appearance.

Join us for an evening aboard the M/V Rainbow Connection. Captivate yourself in the beauty of
an Alaskan evening on Kackemak Bay  while  dining on SWEET Alaskan King Crab, salad, pasta and  dessert. A full service beverage bar rounds out what is sure to be the best dining experiences in the Northland.

Dine surrounded by sea otters, whales, and Alaskan birds makes it one of the BEST dinner shows in Alaska.

Costs: $165   Departure is at 6:00pm and returns at 10pm. This tour needs to be booked a minimum of a month in advance and is for group bookings only with a minimum of 25.


Our first stop on this  tour is our local pelagic seabird rookery only 25 minutes from Homer. 8 different species nest on Gull Island every year to feast on the rich feeding grounds of Kachemak Bay. See the Horned and Tufted Puffins, Pelagic and Red-faced Cormorants, Black legged Kittiwake and Glaucaus winged Gulls, Common Murre and the Pigeon Guillemots.  Next we will visit a Mariculture farm and learn about how OUR FABULOUS Kachemak Bay Oysters are grown. Oyster samples will be available on board as a tasty reminder of what Glacier fed Oysters are all about. Not only will you get a taste of this world renound offering,  you will also have the opportunity to take some home.
Running time for this enriching tour is 2.5 hours.

This Maritime Refuge is  located in the middle of Kennedy Entrance and shouldn’t be missed! Numerous species  of wildlife call these islands home during our summer months. Birds include Puffins, Auklets, Murrelets, Murres, Gulls, Fulmars, Shearwaters, and Terns. Marine mammal sightings of Humpback, Finback, Gray, and Orca whales are often seen. Dall Porpoise are also frequently seen along with Stellar sea lions and  Harbor seals.

Please make sure to call and schedule. Space is limited as these trips are scheduled only during large tides and are weather dependant.

Cost: $195 person with a minimum of 15. Group discounts are available.
DPT is at 7am with a return of 6 pm
Please note that trips can be cancelled in the morning as to rough seas at the Barrens.


 CELEBRATE your special day with your closest family and friends. We offer this UNIQUE AND INTIMATE experience for the Bride and Groom of cruising  Kachemak Bay and encompassing yourselves in the Natural beauty of our waters.  This tour is customized to BEST accomodate the Bride and Groom to suit their needs and where they would like to venture. Sights can include amazing waterfalls, steep natural fjords where black bears and mountain goats reside, remote islands, sea otters, harbor seals and even a whale ot two. We can even provide transportation to a remote wilderness lodge.
A buffet style banquet can be catered from a variety of  gourmet restaurants in Homer.
